Based off of the Seven Dimensions of Wellness, Intellectual Wellness is defined as:
"Spending more time pursuing personal interests and reading books, magazines, and newspapers, while staying aware of current events and issues. It is the ability to open one’s mind to new concepts and experiences that can be applied to personal decisions, group interaction and community enhancement, improve skills, and seek challenges in pursuit of lifelong learning." What Intellectual Wellness means to me:
- Learning a new subject or skill
- Exercising the mind
- Reading
- Surrounding yourself with others that will challenge your way of thinking
I thought including a definition of each dimension of wellness would be helpful to keep myself and readers educated on what each category will entail. I will go into further detail in each section listing areas needing improvement and how I plan to accomplish those goals. I hope you will stay awhile and maybe even find some inspiration for your own self improvement goals.
